Prosus N.V. announced today the appointment of Fabricio Bloisi as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for both Prosus and its parent company, Naspers Group (collectively referred to as “the Group”). This decision signifies a strategic shift towards leadership driven by innovation and entrepreneurial spirit.

Bloisi’s Impressive Background

Fabrício Bloisi, renowned for his role as the founder of Movile and the CEO of iFood, Latin America’s leading food delivery platform, brings a wealth of experience to the table. He acquired iFood in its early stages (2013) and successfully transformed it from a small startup to a dominant force in the region.

Bloisi’s academic credentials include a degree in Computer Science from UNICAMP and an MBA from FGV/EAESP, where his thesis focused on high-growth startups, strategic innovation, and effective business strategies. He has also participated in prestigious programs at Stanford Graduate School of Business (EPGC) and Harvard (OPM).

Beyond the business world, Bloisi demonstrates a commitment to social impact. In 2023, he was appointed as a UN spokesperson on education for Brazil (SDG 4) and joined the country’s presidential economic and sustainable development council.

Leadership Transitions and Rationale

Koos Bekker, Director of Prosus and Naspers, communicated his trust in Bloisi’s administration. “Our prosperity has consistently depended on supporting remarkable business visionaries who influence innovation to work on day to day routines,” Bekker expressed. “Fabricio epitomizes this soul, and his arrangement places advancement and enterprising reasoning at the center of the Gathering’s technique.”

Highlighting Bloisi’s achievements at iFood, Bekker praised his ability to combine vision with operational expertise and disciplined financial management. “The Board believes this unique skillset makes him the ideal leader to steer the Group forward,” Bekker concluded.

Bekker also acknowledged the valuable contributions of Ervin Tu, the outgoing interim CEO. “Ervin navigated a challenging period with exceptional skill, refocused our teams, and instilled renewed energy within the company,” Bekker said.”As the new President and CIO, he will keep on assuming a significant part in molding the Gathering’s future techniques, ventures, and asset portion.”

Bloisi Embraces New Challenge

“Leading Prosus and Naspers during this exciting period of technological innovation and change is a tremendous honor,” stated Bloisi. “The success of iFood, built by a passionate team that balanced innovation with disciplined investment, agility, and empowering our talented workforce, is a source of immense pride. This approach is ingrained in me, and I will carry it forward in my new role.”

Bloisi expressed his belief in the transformative potential of technology and the responsibility Prosus has to identify emerging technologies like AI that can positively impact the world, particularly in developing markets. “Our unwavering focus on innovation, disciplined financial management, and our outstanding team, knowledge, and culture will be the recipe for delivering superior customer experiences, creating opportunities for employees, and generating sustainable shareholder value for years to come,” he added.

Optimism for the Future

Ervin Tu, the outgoing interim CEO, expressed his enthusiasm for the future under Bloisi’s leadership. “Fabricio possesses an incredible operational track record, embodies the spirit of a true entrepreneur, champions a positive company culture, and has the vision to think big and push boundaries,” Tu said. “We are at a pivotal juncture of change in the tech industry, with countless opportunities ahead. I am thrilled to embark on this journey alongside Fabricio.”
