Sonia Gandhi and Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina Meet in New Delhi

 On Monday, Congress Parliamentary Party chairperson Sonia Gandhi met with Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in New Delhi to discuss a variety of significant issues. She was joined by her son Rahul Gandhi, the former Congress president, and her daughter Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, the party’s general secretary.


Strentghening India-Bangladesh Ties

The Congress announced on X that Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra met with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wazed in the afternoon. Rahul Gandhi shared on his WhatsApp channel that they engaged in discussions to further strengthen the natural bond between India and Bangladesh, emphasizing trust, cooperation, and mutual growth. He also posted a video of the meeting with Hasina.


Warm Reception and Close Familial Ties

The Congress party also shared the video and photos of the meeting, highlighting the warm interaction where Hasina greeted Sonia Gandhi with a hug. The images and video underscored the close relationship between the Gandhi family and Sheikh Hasina’s family.


Interaction with the Bangladesh Delegation

Additionally, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul, and Priyanka met with the visiting Bangladesh delegation accompanying Prime Minister Hasina. Hasina had arrived in Delhi on Saturday to attend Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s swearing-in ceremony on June 9.


These meetings underscored the commitment of both nations to continue fostering their deep-rooted relationship and exploring avenues for enhanced cooperation and mutual development.
