Kidbea, a children’s fashion brand built around eco-friendly bamboo clothing, has secured an undisclosed amount in its ongoing Series A funding round. The round, which aims to raise $2 million, is led by a prestigious group of investors including Ritesh Malik (founder of Innov8), Nazara Technology founder Nitish Mittersain, and renowned cardiovascular surgeon Dr. Shriram Nene.

“We are more than happy to invite Ritesh Malik and Dr. Nene as regarded financial backers,” said Swapnil Srivastav, Prime supporter of Kidbea. “Their help is pivotal as we try to change the kidswear business with practical and delicate on-skin attire.”

Sustainable Clothing for Little Ones

Established in 2021 by Swapnil Srivastav, Mohammad Hussain, and Aman Kumar Mahto, Kidbea prioritizes creating comfortable, sustainable, and skin-friendly clothing for children. Their product line encompasses not only spillproof and bamboo-based clothing but also soft toys and essential kid accessories like feeding bottles and nibblers.

The brand has established a strong online presence on major platforms like Amazon, Flipkart, and AJIO. Additionally, Kidbea has partnered with over 30 premium children’s hospitals and expanded its reach to international markets in the UAE, Bahrain, and Australia.

Fueling Growth and Innovation

The recently procured financing will enable Kidbea to extend its group and put resources into innovative work (Research and development) drives. “We are excited to have them join our excursion,” Srivastav added, “and we expect their direction in pushing Kidbea to turn into the world’s driving bamboo-based kidswear brand.”

Before this Series A round, Kidbea got $1 million in a pre-Series A financing round drove by Adventure Impetuses in January 2024. This round additionally saw interest from Dexterity Adventures, BestVantage Ventures, and eminent people including Sandeep Agarwal, Upasana Agarwal, Ashok Bahadur, and Japanese entertainer Hiro Mizushima.

Vision for the Future

Kidbea aspires to become a Rs 500 crore brand within the next three years. Along with expanding their existing product lines, the company plans to introduce two new sub-brands: a plant-based skincare line specifically designed for children and a range of plant-based diapers and wet wipes.

The brand competes with established domestic players like FirstCry, Hopscotch, Cub McPaws, and Peppermint, as well as international competitors such as PatPat and Primary. However, Kidbea’s commitment to sustainability and gentle materials positions them uniquely in the market.
