Chennai-based skincare startup CHOSEN has secured $1.2 million in its seed funding round. The funding comes from friends and family, following an earlier equity-free grant of $100,000 from Peak XV Partners’ SPARK program, which supports women entrepreneurs.
Fueling Expansion and Innovation
CHOSEN plans to utilize the funds to bolster its workforce and enhance its supply chain capabilities. This strategic investment will empower the company to meet the growing demand for its products.
Founded by a Skincare Expert
Established by cosmetic dermatologist Dr. Renita Rajan, CHOSEN prioritizes the development of innovative skincare solutions. The company leverages patents and advanced formulations to create effective products specifically designed for Indian skin types. Additionally, CHOSEN is actively exploring the potential of IoT-driven skincare solutions, aiming to further personalize the skincare experience.
A Track Record of Success
CHOSEN was previously recognized by Peak XV Partners as part of their cohort of women-led startups, receiving a $100,000 grant in the process. Over the past four years, the company has established a robust multi-channel distribution network for its highly effective cosmetic products. CHOSEN currently offers 34 distinct product lines (SKUs) with an additional 12 in the development stage. The company anticipates launching even more products within the next 18 months, showcasing its commitment to continuous innovation.
Projecting Ambitious Growth
With a focus on expansion and a commitment to exceptional products, CHOSEN anticipates a significant increase in its operations, projecting a doubling in its scale within the current fiscal year.
