Global investment firm B Capital announced the successful closing of its second fund, B Capital Opportunities Fund II (Fund II). The fund secured $750 million in commitments from a diverse investor base, nearly double the size of its predecessor.

Fund II will focus on primary and secondary investments in later-stage companies across technology, healthcare, and climate technology sectors. The fund’s primary geographic focus lies in North America and Asia.

Strategic Support for Portfolio Companies

A significant portion of the fund will be dedicated to identifying and supporting follow-on investment opportunities within B Capital’s existing portfolio of high-performing companies. Additionally, Fund II will invest in select new ventures where B Capital’s value-added capabilities can significantly impact its next growth phase.

Value Creation Through Strategic Partnerships

“Our value-added approach allows us to empower the most innovative entrepreneurs and businesses,” stated Raj Ganguly, Co-founder and Co-CEO of B Capital. “We provide them with the tools and resources to accelerate their growth, expand market reach, and establish themselves as industry leaders.” Notably, B Capital leverages its strategic partnership with the Boston Consulting Group to deliver these benefits to its portfolio companies.

B Capital’s Fund II has already made its first investment, a secondary purchase in Icertis, an Indian SaaS company and an existing B Capital portfolio company. Since their initial investment in 2017, B Capital has actively supported Icertis’ growth by facilitating connections with strategic investors, assisting with market expansion, and offering guidance on organizational design structures.

Established Presence in the Venture Capital Landscape

Founded in 2015, B Capital currently manages over $6 billion in assets across multiple funds. The firm invests in startups at various stages, ranging from seed to late-stage ventures. Notably, B Capital has a strong presence in the Indian market, having successfully funded leading Indian startups like BYJU’S, Meesho, and Pharmeasy.
