This intimate gathering, held on Wednesday, marked the start of their journey towards marriage, bringing together their families and a few close friends. Understanding the Mameru Ceremony
The Mameru ceremony holds significance in Gujarati weddings. It’s a tradition where the bride’s maternal uncle (mama) visits her to present gifts and sweets. These gifts typically include a Panetar saree, jewelry, ivory or white bangles (chura), along with beautifully packed trays of sweets and dry fruits.
The Wedding Ceremonies: A Grand Celebration
The official wedding festivities will commence on July 12th. The first ceremony will be the auspicious Shubh Vivah, a traditional Indian wedding ceremony. Guests are expected to adhere to an Indian traditional dress code. The following day, July 13th, will be marked by the Shubh Aashirwad ceremony, with a dress code of Indian formal attire. The celebrations will culminate in a grand wedding reception, the Mangal Utsav, on July 14th. Guests are invited to dress in Indian chic attire for this final event. All ceremonies will be held at the Jio World Centre in BKC, Mumbai.
