Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan’s supernatural thriller “Shaitaan” has completed its fourth week at the box office, amassing a commendable total of approximately Rs 141 crore. While this falls short of the initial industry projection of Rs 150 crore, the film continues to perform well. However, the upcoming weeks present significant challenges. Two major releases, “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan” and Devgn’s own sports drama “Maidaan,” are slated to release during the Eid holiday, vying for audience attention. This will likely result in a reduction in available screens for “Shaitaan,” potentially impacting its earning potential.

Solid Week-by-Week Performance

“Shaitaan” enjoyed a strong opening week, grossing an impressive Rs 79.75 crore. The following week saw a moderate decline of around 56%, with collections settling at Rs 34.55 crore. Week three witnessed a further drop, but the film managed to add Rs 19.85 crore to its total, bringing it to Rs 134.15 crore.

Devgn’s Packed Release Schedule

2024 promises to be a busy year for Ajay Devgn with a line-up of five films. Following “Shaitaan,” he will appear in “Maidaan,” a sports biopic, and the suspense thriller “Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha.” The year also marks the highly anticipated return of Devgn’s iconic cop character in Rohit Shetty’s “Singham Again.” Finally, Devgn will round out the year with the action sequel “Raid 2,” co-starring Riteish Deshmukh, Vaani Kapoor, and Saurabh Shukla.

“Shaitaan” – A Gujarati Remake with Sequel Potential

“Shaitaan” is the official Hindi adaptation of the successful Gujarati horror film “Vash.” The movie, featuring newcomer Janki Bodiwala, has captivated audiences with its chills and thrills. Discussions surrounding a potential sequel are already underway, hinting at a possible franchise in the making.
