In an exclusive interview with CNN-News18, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the women of Sandeshkhali for their bravery and determination. Emphasizing his administration’s commitment to women’s empowerment, Modi stated, “Our primary agenda includes women’s reservation and empowerment, and we are actively working towards achieving it.”

Recognition for Sandeshkhali Women

Prime Minister Modi expressed his admiration for the women of Sandeshkhali, saying, “I salute the women of Sandeshkhali. They were fearless and revealed the truth without worrying about the repercussions.” He continued, “With a focus on women’s safety, we have implemented numerous measures. We are also pursuing capital punishment for rapists.”

Commitment to Women’s Empowerment

Discussing his government’s dedication to women’s empowerment, Modi recalled, “In my first address from Red Fort, I highlighted the necessary societal changes regarding women’s status. Women in Bengal currently feel unsafe, and we are doing everything possible to ensure their safety and security.”

Critique of Trinamool Congress

Prime Minister Modi criticized the ruling Trinamool Congress, stating, “The TMC lacks a coherent narrative and substantial issues, which leads them to resort to such tactics. Our administration is focused on granting women reservations, which remains a key priority for us.”

Stance on Muslim Quota and Opposition Tactics

Condemning the Opposition for attempting to create religious divisions for electoral gains, Prime Minister Modi remarked that the issue of Muslim reservation was deliberately raised before elections. He added that the Opposition is now attacking the judiciary for preventing them from manipulating OBC reservations for political purposes.

“The issue of OBC reservation is crucial. The Constituent Assembly decided against religion-based reservations, yet Muslims in Karnataka received quotas. They covertly included Muslims as OBCs, depriving genuine OBCs of their rights. I appreciate our judiciary for blocking these attempts,” Modi said. He concluded, “Their current criticism of the courts is detrimental to the nation.”
