Indian Cricket Team’s Likely Meeting with PM Modi Post T20 World Cup Victory

The Indian cricket team is expected to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi after returning from the West Indies, where they clinched the 2024 T20 World Cup title by defeating South Africa in a thrilling final over. Senior officials from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) are organizing the meeting, and most players are anticipated to attend. However, Sanju Samson, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Shivam Dube might be absent due to their commitment to the five T20I series against Zimbabwe.

 

PM Modi’s Congratulations to the Team

Prime Minister Modi personally congratulated captain Rohit Sharma, senior batsman Virat Kohli, and coach Rahul Dravid over the phone following their triumph. In a series of social media posts on platform X, PM Modi praised the team and extended special messages to Rohit, Virat, and the departing coach Dravid.

 

Praises for Rohit Sharma

To Rohit Sharma, the Prime Minister said, “Dear @ImRo45, you exemplify excellence. Your aggressive approach, batting prowess, and leadership have added a new dimension to the Indian team. Your T20 career will be cherished. It was a joy talking with you today.”

 

Tribute to Virat Kohli

On Virat Kohli’s retirement from the T20 format, PM Modi remarked, “Dear @imVkohli, it was great speaking with you. Your performance in the Finals was outstanding, anchoring Indian batting brilliantly.You have succeeded in all arrangements of the game.T20 cricket will miss you, but I am confident you will continue to inspire the next generation of players.”

 

Acknowledgement of Rahul Dravid’s Contributions

Prime Minister Modi also had words of appreciation for coach Rahul Dravid, expressing his joy at seeing the former India captain lift the World Cup trophy. “His steadfast devotion, key experiences, and ability advancement have changed the group. India is appreciative for his commitments and motivation to people in the future. We are glad to see him lift the World Cup. It was brilliant to compliment him,” composed the Head of the state.

 

Commendation for Ravindra Jadeja

Ravindra Jadeja, who as of late declared his retirement from the T20 design, was likewise commended by PM Modi. “Dear @imjadeja, your presentation as an all-rounder has been uncommon.
