Gamerji, a leading Indian esports tournament platform headquartered in Ahmedabad, has announced its expansion into Southeast Asia, initially focusing on Indonesia and the Philippines. The company identified Southeast Asia as a burgeoning esports hub, fueled by advancements in technology and surging popularity among gamers.

Building on Funding and Success

This expansion follows Gamerji’s successful fundraising of $3 million in a pre-Series A round last year. The platform previously launched operations in the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, marking its initial foray into the international market.

Engaging Content and User Growth

Gamerji launched with eight popular game titles, including PUBG Mobile, Free Fire, and Valorant, catering to a diverse range of gamer preferences. To attract new users, the platform offers virtual currency and a complimentary three-day subscription upon registration. Accessible via its website and mobile apps, Gamerji aims to attract one million users from Southeast Asia within the next year.

Bridging the Gap for Aspiring Gamers

Founded in 2019 by gaming expert Soham Thacker, Gamerji aims to bridge the gap between amateur and professional gamers. The platform provides a legitimate space for gamers to hone their skills, compete in tournaments, connect with like-minded individuals, and gain recognition for their talents. Gamerji boasts over 500 daily tournaments with active participation from gamers in India and the Middle East and North Africa region.

Growing User Base and Ambitious Goals

With a registered user base exceeding 10.8 million, Gamerji has ambitious plans to reach 20 million users within the next year.

Leadership Perspective: Commitment to Expanding Esports

Soham Thacker, CEO and Founder of Gamerji, commented, “As esports gains global recognition from institutions like Olympic councils and governments, Gamerji remains committed to enhancing its presence in Southeast Asia, a region witnessing a surge in esports popularity.” Thacker emphasized the platform’s focus on offering a comprehensive experience. Gamers can refine their skills through daily tournaments, connect with others, and enjoy a fair and rewarding gaming environment.
