Renowned Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan received the esteemed Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar Award at a ceremony held at Dinanath Mangeshkar Natyagrih. During the event, Bachchan expressed his heartfelt sentiments while reminiscing about the late songstress Lata Mangeshkar. Notably, Bachchan was bestowed with this accolade in recognition of his unparalleled dedication to music, art, culture, and philanthropy.

Dressed in a white kurta-pajama ensemble adorned with a vibrant shawl, Bachchan graced the occasion. Accompanying him were distinguished luminaries such as Shivangi Kolhapure, Randeep Hooda, AR Rahman, and Ashok Saraf, the recipient of the Maharashtra Bhushan Award in 2023.

AR Rahman, the recipient of multiple Oscars and Grammys, was also honored with the Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar Award for his significant contributions to the realm of music. Rahman has been earning acclaim for his recent album for the Imtiaz Ali-directed film “Amar Singh Chamkila.”

The seasoned actor received this honor on April 24, which was also the day when theater-music icon Deenanath Mangeshkar, his father, was remembered. This accolade is a source of immense pride for Bachchan’s admirers. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the inaugural recipient of this award, followed by Asha Bhosle, the sister of Lata Mangeshkar, in 2023.
