Nestle India and Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd. have joined forces to establish a joint venture (JV) dedicated to introducing groundbreaking nutraceutical products to the Indian market, with potential expansion into other designated territories. This strategic partnership combines the strengths of both companies, leveraging their expertise to deliver a comprehensive range of nutritional health solutions and supplements.

A Diverse Product Portfolio to Address Varied Needs

The JV will cater to a wide spectrum of health concerns, offering products that target metabolic care, hospital nutrition, general wellness, women’s health, and child nutrition. Consumers can expect to see a curated selection of well-established brands, including Nature’s Bounty, Osteo Bi-Flex, and Ester-C from Nestle Health Science (NHSc), alongside Dr. Reddy’s popular offerings such as Rebalanz and Celevida.

Enhanced Availability and Distribution

Suresh Narayanan, Chairman and Managing Director of Nestle India, expressed his confidence that the JV will significantly improve the accessibility and distribution of high-quality nutritional products throughout India. He lauded Dr. Reddy’s established presence in the pharmaceutical sector and emphasized the shared commitment of both companies to fostering consumer health. “This venture will empower us to build a robust retail and distribution network,” Narayanan stated, “bringing our brands closer to consumers and making a positive impact on their quality of life.”

Improved Access and Affordability for Consumers

M V Ramana, Chief of Marked Markets (India and Developing Business sectors) at Dr. Reddy’s,echoed the sentiment of a shared purpose in promoting good health. “We are thrilled to partner with Nestle India in bringing the innovative products from Nestle Health Science’s global portfolio to Indian consumers,” Ramana remarked. “By leveraging the complementary strengths of both parent companies, this novel approach will ensure better access and affordability for consumers.”

Looking Ahead: A Collaborative Future

The joint venture is anticipated to commence operations in the second quarter of fiscal year 2025, marking the beginning of a collaborative effort to revolutionize the Indian nutraceutical landscape.
