organizations, both globally (61%) and in India (71%), are actively collecting and analyzing cybersecurity and IT data to identify potential risks and opportunities for improved security.

Highlighting the Urgency: Recent Cyberattacks

The recent cyberattack on Madhya Pradesh’s e-Nagarpalika portal, compromising data from 413 cities, serves as a stark reminder of the vulnerabilities faced by smaller government portals with sensitive data and potentially weak security measures. This incident underscores the need for robust defenses across all sectors.

Similar attacks have impacted organizations worldwide. For instance, US real estate giant First American was forced to take operations offline due to a data breach.

Looking Forward: Embracing Disruptive Technologies

Despite these challenges, Indian businesses remain optimistic about the potential of technological advancements. The survey found that 69% of Indian executives view Generative AI as an opportunity, exceeding the global average (60%). This positive outlook suggests a willingness to leverage new technologies while mitigating cyber risks.
