Cloudphysician Welcomes Mandar Vaidya as India CEO

Computer based intelligence medical services startup Cloudphysician has named Mandar Vaidya as its CEO for India, beginning in June. Previously, Vaidya served as the regional CEO for OYO, overseeing operations in Europe, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Japan. He also holds a position as an independent director on the board of pharmaceutical company Cipla.


Recent Funding and Expansion Plans

The announcement follows Cloudphysician’s recent success in securing $10.5 million in Series A funding. The investment round was led by Peak XV Partners, with additional support from Elevar Equity and venture debt firm Panthera Peak.

Founded by Dhruv Joshi and Dileep Raman, Cloudphysician specializes in AI-driven operations, collaborating with hospitals to manage patients in their ICU and emergency departments. The company claims that its integrated technology, treatment protocols, and medical teams enhance patient outcomes.


Growing Reach and Financial Performance

Based in Bengaluru, Cloudphysician has now partnered with over 200 hospitals across 23 states in India, providing care for over 100,000 patients. The startup aims to extend its technology-driven solutions to more than 5,000 hospitals. For the fiscal year ending March 2023, Cloudphysician reported operating revenue of Rs 13 crore, up from Rs 8 crore in the previous fiscal year. However, the company’s losses increased to Rs 22 crore, compared to Rs 17.83 crore in FY22.
