Acko Acquires OneCare in Strategic Move to Expand Healthcare Services

Insurtech firm Acko has purchased digital chronic care management company OneCare in an all-cash transaction. This acquisition aligns with Acko’s broader vision of becoming a comprehensive healthcare provider, extending beyond its traditional insurance services, according to a company press release.

 

Leadership Integration and Expertise

Following the acquisition, OneCare’s co-founders, Rakesh Shivran and Sagar Bhat, will join Acko’s leadership team. Their extensive experience in developing large-scale health-tech services will be a valuable addition to Acko.

 

OneCare’s Innovative Care Model

OneCare has created a distinctive omnichannel care model that integrates advanced wearables, data-driven insights, and the convenience of both physical clinics and virtual care teams. 

 

Building a Comprehensive Healthcare Ecosystem

Acko aims to develop a healthcare ecosystem that addresses all facets of a customer’s health insurance needs, encompassing protection, prevention, care, and recovery.

 

Acko’s Market Presence

Acko holds a significant market share in embedded insurance products like mobility and gadget insurance, collaborating with over 50 prominent players in the internet ecosystem, including Oyo, redBus, Zomato, HDB Financial Services, and Urban Company. The company reports distributing insurance policies to more than 78 million customers and issuing over 1 billion policies.
